Sometimes during transportation, the wires inside the unit will shift and might disconnect from the control panel. Please remove the filters and check that there are no loose wires coming from the control panel (where the buttons are). If there is a wire that is disconnected, this will not allow the unit to come on. Please connect back the wire accordingly and the unit should work. If not, please contact our Customer Service department by phone at 1-800-350-4582 or by email service@anconahome.com and we will gladly assist you. We are open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm Eastern Time zone.
Yes, the Styrofoam located inside your range hood is only there to protect the unit as well as the motor. It would need to be removed prior to installation. If it is stuck and does not come out smoothly, it can be cut and removed piece by piece.
There is no modification switch on the range hood to adjust or reduce the fan’s CFM variable speed motor power. However, you can install a recirculation kit which will reduce the CFM motor by about 100CFM.
Decibels (dBA) is the objective scientific measurement of sound pressure level. They are measured in an accredited laboratory using specialized testing equipment. Sones are the personal subjective characteristic of sounds; the perceived sound volume or loudness that an individual hears. They are unique to everyone’s strength of hearing and perception of sound.
Wall mounted range hoods cannot be used over an island. Wall mounted range hoods have 3 finished sides and an exposed back for wall installation; Island range hoods are uniquely designed with a smooth finish all around.
Stainless steel hoods should be washed regularly using a clean soft non-scratching cloth with hot water and vinegar. Wipe in the direction of the polish lines. Rinse well with clear water and wipe dry immediately. You may wish to apply light oil used for furniture polishing to emphasize its bright finish. We recommend Weiman Stainless Steel wipes which can be found at most local hardware stores. You will find instructions under the Use and Care Information section of your manual.
Goo Gone, which can be purchased at any local hardware store, may be used to remove any glue residue. Wipe the residue in a circular motion using a cotton swab.
Our entire Ancona wall mounted range hood models come with two telescopic chimneys which allow you to adjust them to the height that is needed. We do not have one piece chimneys. The telescopic chimneys only come in a standard size and cannot be custom modified. If any modifications are needed, we recommend that they be done by a metal shop professional in order to ensure a straight and smooth finish.
Although our Ancona wall mounted range hoods are made for 9ft ceilings, you can install our chimney style range hoods on an 8ft ceiling. Please consult the dimension sheet of the model you are interested in prior to purchasing the unit in order to confirm that the sizes are compliant. If you have enough space, you can install it using just the upper chimney. If both chimneys are needed for installation, one of the chimneys can be cut by a professional metal shop in order to fit your space accordingly.
If there is condensation, the duct size might be too long. Please keep in mind that the duct should be straight up towards the top and should not be longer than 29ft using a rigid/metal duct tube. Also, please make sure that there are no serpentines in the ducting tube as this will restrict the air flow as well as the suction power.
Our Ancona range hood models are designed to eliminate the odors and are not constructed to push air back into the home. The motor runs one way only and usually, if the air is blowing downwards is because there is obstruction in the ventilation tube. Please check if the damper on the unit is opening and closing properly. The damper flaps must be removed in order to have a better suction power and an effective air flow. Also, please make sure that the ventilation tube is not clogged i.e rocks, leafs, dust etc.
The minimum clearance is 24 inches for installation above an electrical cooktop and a minimum 30 inches for gas cooktops. There is no maximum distance but we recommend that you do not go over 32 inches in order for the range hood to work as effectively as designed.
Replacement filters for our Ancona range hoods cannot be purchased at a local hardware store. You can purchase replacement filters for Ancona range hoods directly through our website: www.anconahome.comProducts ->Range Hoods -> Accessories Filters
Yes, both baffle filters and aluminum mesh filters are washable. The aluminum mesh grease filters should be washed in your dishwasher approximately every month depending on the amount of usage. Clean all-metal filters in the dishwasher using a non-phosphate detergent. Discoloration of the filter may occur if using phosphate detergents, or as a result of local water conditions — but this will not affect filter performance. This discoloration is not covered by the warranty. Wash often if your cooking style generates greater grease like frying foods or wok cooking. You cannot clean the non-ducted carbon filters; they must be replaced. Baffle filters, which are used in professional style range hood products, are designed to operate longer in high grease conditions without loss of performance. Generally, these need to be cleaned with soap and water whenever the surfaces become unsightly. To extend the life of your filters, we recommend soaking them in hot water and vinegar (ratio half/half).
The Ancona built-in range hood models are made to be installed on an exterior ventilation system only and the non-ducted carbon filters cannot be adapted to these models.
If a range hood has halogen lights, they cannot be replaced with LED lights as the internal electrical components (transformer + circuit board) are not compatible.
If both lights stopped working at the same time, please make sure that all the wires are connected to the transformer which is the light module (transformer) inside the unit.
An excess in sound without any shaking or squeaking may be due to an obstruction in the air flow. Check that your ventilation pipe is free from any obstructions and make sure that the damper on the unit is opening and closing properly. If you have a damper on the outside of your home, we suggest removing the flaps from the damper at the top of the unit to have less obstruction.

If you still hear vibration, please make sure that the unit is installed using a rigid/metal tube for the range hood to have a better efficiency as well as to preserve the life of the motor. Also, by using a rigid duct tube, you will save energy. If a rigid duct tube was used and you are still having issues, it can be that the motor is unbalanced and would need to be replaced.
For all our wall mounted units, Ancona does not provide the round to rectangular damper adapters. You can purchase an adapter kit that goes from rectangle to round at your local hardware store such as Rona or Home Depot in order to get the correct adapter needed for your model.
There is no limit to how long a towel warmer can stay on. However, to conserve the life expectancy of our Ancona towel warmer, we recommend that the unit be on consecutively no more than 2-3 hours at a time.
There is an on/off switch located on the unit that is separate from the timer. The switch will turn red in the on position and the towel warmer will warm up within 10 minutes. If your towel warmer includes a timer, please ensure the timer is connected correctly and programmed.
This may occur during a power outage. Turn off the breaker for about 1 hour then reset it. Once the breaker is back on, the display clock should flash 12:00. To reset the clock, follow the instructions for your model in the Owners Manual.
To adjust the flame, remove the knobs and insert the included 3/32 screwdriver through the access hole to engage the brass slotted screw.Turn the screw counterclockwise to lower the flame and clockwise to increase the flame. Please note that the flame should never be higher than a quarter of an inch over the burner cap. Detailed instructions can be found in the Owner Manual.
Yes, the smell and light smoke you may see when your stove is first used is from a protective coating used during the manufacturing process, and should burn off after a few usages. If the smell persists , please contact our customer service department immediately so we can assist you.
The white ignition pin is the spark module which ignites the flame on the cooktop, whereas the gold thermocouple is the pin which keeps the flame lit. Please note that the thermocouple and ignition pin are bigger on the triple ring burner ( located on the left-hand side) than the rest of the 4 burners.
Yes, it is normal because the cooktop is built with a central ignition module, so all five ignition pins will spark but only the open valve will ignite.
To check the nozzles on the cooktop, you need to first remove the grate, remove the burner cap and then the burner ring. At the center of the burner you will find a gold nozzle. Please verify the nozzles accordingly to natural or propane gas.

If this unit is recently installed, please make sure that the black burner caps and aluminum rings are placed on the cooktop prior to igniting it. All parts of the cooktop need to be placed for the pins to ignite.
If you are experiencing a whistling sound coming from the back burners, please check the connection tube from the regulator to the gas line. It should not be less than 1-2ft if it is a flexible tube. If a longer connection is needed more than a 1-2ft, a rigid tube would need to be used. Always contact a qualified gas technician in your area before modifying your installation.
The thermocouple, which is the small sensitive gold pin located at the back of each burner, at times, gets damaged through transport and needs to be replaced. Once the thermocouple is replaced, may need to adjust the flame to a higher level.
The ignition pin, which is the small sensitive white pin located at the back of each burner, might have been damaged through transportation and would need to be replaced. Please note that all Gas Cooktops now come with replacement ignition pins and thermocouples.
